Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we celebrate the Word of God Sunday *today, we are reminded of the profound significance of God’s Word in our lives as Catholics. Established by Pope Francis, this special Sunday calls us to celebrate, study, and share the Word of God and in alignment with the Archdiocesan directive, we will observe the Word of God Sunday with the Enthronement of the Bible during the Mass. This important ritual will give prominence to the Word of God and is part of the universal Church’s commitment to deepening our appreciation, love, and faithful witness to Sacred Scripture.
In keeping with the spirit of this day, we encourage you to bring your personal or family Bible to Mass for a special blessing. This gesture reflects the Catholic teaching that the Word of God is sacred, and by having our Bibles blessed, we honor the presence of God’s Word in our homes and hearts.
The Bible will remain enthroned in our church until Tuesday, *4th March 2025* , the day before Ash Wednesday, as we continue to focus on reflecting on the importance of God’s Word in our lives.
Let us take this opportunity to open our hearts and minds to the teachings of Scripture, allowing it to guide us in our daily lives. May the Word of God strengthen our faith and inspire us to live according to His will.
May God grant us the grace to appreciate the importance of this special celebration, in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
